EXCLUSIVE: Aubrey Plaza Drops $6.5 Million for LA Home She Shares With Late Husband Jeff Baena

He’s a comedian Aubrey Plaza seems to have changed her mind about selling the $6.5 million home when her husband, Jeff Baenadied—just three months after putting his Los Angeles apartment on the market.

Plaza, 41, first put the four-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom property on the market in September, eight months after Baena died by suicide at the age of 47 in the home.

Records show it was taken off the market on December 23. It is not known if the comedian has plans to repeat it in the coming months.

Plaza and Baena, a former writer and director, bought the home in October 2022, paying $4.7 million for the Los Feliz property.

At that time, the property was purchased through a trust owned by an accounting firm with the same office as the Plaza’s production company, Evil Hag Productions.

The Mediterranean-style residence was built in 1928 and appears to have been bought off the market, according to Realtor.com® data.

Before being purchased by the couple in 2022, the home last changed hands in 2017 for $3.6 million.

In its listing, the Spanish-style home was described as “tucked away on a private cul-de-sac” in the “desirable” Los Feliz Oaks neighborhood.

The listing photos reveal a pleasant interior, with a neutral, elegant palette used throughout the home, filled with natural light.

The light and airy kitchen has large glass doors to the backyard, helping to create a seamless flow between the two spaces.

However, there are several pops of color throughout, including a large pink sofa in one of the living areas, and a fun yellow and green tile in the bathroom.

Pink seems to be Plaza’s favorite color, the basic bathroom was painted a very pale rose and decorated with interesting light fixtures of the same color.

There are also many amenities outside the main residence, including multiple outdoor living areas “designed for dining, relaxing, and entertaining,” as well as a spectacular swimming pool, grassy lawn, and tree canopy that provide natural shade on hot days.

In one of the living areas, an arched art window reflects the beauty of the surroundings, offering a beautiful view of the gardens of the property.

Arches run throughout the living space, from the arched front door to the arched doorways that lead from room to room in many of the main living areas.

Plaza’s decision to put the property on the market came just days after she wrapped up a short promotional tour for her new movie, “Honey Don’t!” It also has stars Margaret Qualley again Chris Evans.

As part of his media commitment to the project, the comedian attended red carpet events, while sitting with another comedian. Amy Poehler to open up about the film—but not before talking about her husband’s passing.

Trying to explain his grieving process, Plaza talked about the 2025 film “The Gorge,” starring Miles Teller again Anya-Taylor Joyshowing a distant wall filled with monsters—with guard posts stationed on either side to fiercely defend their positions within.

Plaza admitted that while it may seem like a strange analogy, the set-up of the sci-fi thriller felt similar to his own plight.

“This is a really dumb analogy, and it was a joke at one point, but I really mean it. Did you see that movie ‘The Gorge’?” Plaza asked. “That’s right [an] a foreign movie or something with Miles Teller.

“In the movie, it’s like a cliff on one side and there’s a cliff on the other side. And then there’s a chasm in the middle and it’s full of all these, like, animal people trying to find themselves. I swear, when I watched it, I was like ‘That sounds like what my grief is like…or what grief would be like.’

The screen star explained that, no matter how she feels at a given moment, her grief is always lingering—whether she wants to lean into it fully, or run away from it completely.

“Every time, it’s like a big bad ocean, that’s like there and I can see it,” she said. “Sometimes I just want to sink into it, and be in it. And then sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to run away from it. But it’s always there.”
