The Sydney Harbor estate which was renovated over seven years is worth $55m

10 Poole St, Longueville combines an original ante-bellum style with modern additions
On the shores of Sydney Harbour, this luxurious home took seven years of design and construction to transform into its current location that blends the old with the new.
It includes an original ante-bellum style home that has only had two owners, including the family that built it in 1938 and lived there for nearly 70 years.
The second of the two, its current owners, have repaired. They decided to keep the building and use it as a workspace for a new and modern addition. The extension connects to the original home via a glass walkway.
The residence, known as ‘Otahki’, is listed for sale by Ken Jacobs and Hui Xu of Forbes Global Properties. The guidance is $55m.

With a current estimated land value of $30m and a total land size of 4,389 sqm, the estate is a combination of three blocks.
“The owners bought the first property in 2005 and over the next 18 months they got the two properties connected,” said Mr Jacobs.
“They then embarked on a seven-year journey to design and build this extraordinary building.”
According to Mr. Jacobs, the owners had looked in the east and lower north coast areas to find a home that offered the specific needs of their young family and lifestyle but they could not find a suitable home so they decided to do it.

Spread over 47,000 square metres, the estate opens from the road to Sydney Harbor where a pool, cabana, jetty, landing stage and boathouse await.
Mr Jacobs said the home is a complete package that provides all the necessities for a growing family life and management style.
“It also has a renovated duplex at street level that is convenient for visitors or local workers while providing the privacy of the main house,” he said.
