Lily Allen and David Harbor’s Martial Townhouse Finds a Buyer—Weeks After Lowering the Price Following Their Acrimonious Divorce

Lily Allenand the actorDavid Harbour have officially found a buyer for their war-torn townhouse—just over two months after the estranged couple put the property on the market during their contentious divorce.

Allen, 40, and Harbor, 50, first listed the Carroll Gardens, NY, property, represented by. Carl Gambino of Compass, for $7.99 million on October 26—months after they announced they were ending their four-year marriage.

On Jan. 8, the former couple lowered the asking price to $7.3 million, and it appears that the price drop helped the buyer as the property officially went under contract, according to its listing.

The buyer’s news comes after the “West End Girl” singer opened up about the toll her split from the “Stranger Things” star had on her children, Ethel14, again Marnie12.

“My kids are sane at the moment,” she revealed during a live taping of “Miss Me?” a podcast. “They’re definitely improving their personality. There’s just a lot. There’s a lot of questions.”

According to People, Allen also explained that his decision to return to the UK with his children after his split from Harbor has caused a lot of upheaval in their lives, admitting: “There are a lot of changes in our lives at the moment. We’ve changed houses, we’ve changed countries, we’ve changed schools, and there’s more.”

Before Allen and Harbor broke up, the couple lived in Brooklyn with the singer’s children, with whom she shares her ex-husband, Sam Cooper.

The singer and screen star were in the midst of their love affair when they took over the home, which served as their main residence during their four-year marriage.

However, that marriage fell apart in early 2025, when reports began to surface that they had pulled the plug on their relationship.

Speculation was rife about what caused the breakup—only Allen made it all clear on his recently released album, “West End Girl.” In it, he made several shocking allegations about Harbour’s alleged infidelity, and the townhouse plays an important role in the record’s song.

According to the song, the decision to buy the home was Harbour’s, with Allen singing: “Now I’m looking at houses with four or five stories / And you found a brownstone, he said ‘You want it? It’s yours.’

He added that he felt he would not have been able to buy the property without his spouse’s help, admitting that the financial situation made him feel “uncomfortable,” especially because he said Harbor was the one “pushing” him to close the deal.

After buying the house, the couple did an extensive interior renovation, working with a designerBilly Cotton-also alluded to in Allen’s song-turning the historic settlement into a “strange” and wonderful world.

“So we went ahead and bought it / We found ourselves with a mortgage / Billy Cotton sorted / All the furniture ordered / I couldn’t afford this / You were pushing it / You made me feel uncomfortable / You made me feel uncomfortable,” Allen recalled on “West End Girl.”

The property, located in a leafy neighborhood of Brooklyn, has four floors and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

According to the listing, the 22-foot-wide space marries “traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities, and rich Italian influences.”

Upon entering the property, guests are greeted with a green carpet leading to a white staircase.

Next door is a cozy living area, complete with floral wallpaper, green crown molding, fireplace, and glass doors to the backyard, with its own sauna and cold soak.

The chef’s kitchen is all white, including a tile backsplash, and comes complete with modern appliances, a large island, and a chandelier.

There is also a large breakfast bar that is placed near the window and seats a few people.

One of the bathrooms has colorful blue wallpaper, a fireplace, and a large soaking tub.

Most bedrooms boast ample space for a king-size bed and large windows, filling the rooms with natural light.

The office area has multi-colored wallpaper and a large window.

Another living room has a zebra print carpet and a zebra print sofa.

The garden level has a guest suite, a powder room, and a basement with a gym, laundry and storage.

In 2023, the couple showed off their amazing space in a photoshoot for Architectural Digest, which teased that the couple had created a “crazy, crazy, crazy world” within their city.

At the time, Harbor—best known for his role as Jim Hopper on Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things”—praised Allen for being a hero who inspires this strange and strange world.

“Lily is someone who lives with color in a deeper way than most. Her taste is bold, silly, fun, eccentric. It’s exciting,” he told AD.

The result was a far cry from the dilapidated condition the Carroll Gardens brownstone was in when Harbor and Allen bought it.

“The facade was very dilapidated, and the interior was … well, let’s just say it was very old,” according to their designer, Ben Bischoff.

It was also a departure from the mid-century modern aesthetic that Harbor enjoyed in her first home—a one-bedroom house inside a former carriage factory in New York’s trendy NoHo neighborhood.

In that home, the Harbor bedroom was flooded with natural light from large windows and sky-high ceilings.

However, in the house she and Allen built together, the pink master bedroom had no windows, giving it the impression of a cozy cave in stark contrast to her living space.

While giving AD a glimpse into their home, Allen described the room as “a womb of a bed.”

Elsewhere in the home, light fills the space, including a carpeted bathroom, equipped with a large tub and fireplace. The bathroom doubles as a living room, where the shower and toilet have been moved to a separate area to allow room for rest in the room.

According to property records, the former couple held the residence under two separate trusts and financed it with a $2.5 million mortgage.

“It looks like no one has been home for a long time.” Every house on the street has Halloween decorations, but not Lily and David’s.

“It’s a family favorite – Lily was very active in the community when she lived here with David,” another neighbor told The Sun.

Harbor now lives in her West Village apartment, which is where Allen seems to suspect in her album that her ex-husband had an affair with her. Natalie Tippetta clothing designer the actress met in New Orleans in 2021.
