The Riverside trophy estate headlines Australia’s landmark list of the month

A Gold Coast mansion with a waterfront tennis court has been voted a landmark property on realestate.com.au this month, offering buyers the chance to meet, mingle and relax in style.

If the Australian Open has you dreaming of full-service at home, you’ll love these outstanding properties with their tennis courts.

Top of ‘iconic.com.au”s first social media poll for 2026 – which asked viewers to vote for their iconic tennis court mansion – was this seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom Gold Coast station at 16-18 Marseille Court, Sorrento.

As impressive as Carlos Alcaraz’s final game, this 2,603sqm tropical resort, with 74m of prime water space, comes with its own boathouse and slipway – so your guests can arrive and get hitched in style.

A floodlit tennis court takes center stage, lined with palms and the gentle waters of the Main River. And after working up a sweat, you can take a dip in the Italian glass-tiled pool or jump off your private pontoon.

The home itself is the ultimate trophy – for an undisclosed price. Designed by renowned architect John Patterson, this state-of-the-art masterpiece features a beautiful butterfly staircase that leads to a luxurious mix of formal and informal living spaces, all wrapped in glass with beautiful water views. Decks on all floors, including the 360-degree rooftop, take in stunning views of the Gold Coast, as well as the tennis action below.

Each of these seven luxurious suites is a private space complete with balcony, dressing room and ensuite. The master suite sanctuary has two dressing rooms, a Botticino marble bathroom, a private lounge, a kitchen and its own outdoor terrace.

For entertaining, there’s also a state-of-the-art Gaggenau kitchen, a billiards room and a magnificent salon, as well as a private bedroom with a private kitchen, movie theater and lounge for those post-game celebrations.

Agent Robert Cucio at Zed Real Estate Mermaid Beach said the home has been on and off the market for two years, with the sellers – a mature couple – now looking to downsize.

He said interest comes mainly from international customers and investors.

“A lot of properties on the Gold Coast at this price point are in that modern style. This is a classic mansion in its design and layout,” he said. “It’s a great home for someone looking for a statement piece, something truly luxurious.”

The mansions that topped our social survey – and their tennis courts – were equally impressive.

In fact, one is the castle that inspired the name of the suburb.

Innisfallen Castle at 14 Cherry Place, Castle Cove, on Sydney’s lower North Shore, is made of sandstone quarried on site and has a round stone turret at each corner.

With eight bedrooms, a private guest wing, and a championship-size tennis court set amidst park-like gardens, this 8,333sqm Middle Harbor property – offered for just the second time in 120 years – can be yours for around $60 million.

If water tennis courts are your jam, another option is the historic Mornington Peninsular estate at 4 Denistoun Avenue, Mount Eliza. This five-bedroom, Victorian-style house has wrap-around verandas and views across Port Phillip Bay to the Melbourne city skyline.

Listed at $15m-$16.5m, the 6,067sqm residence offers a range of leisure options, including an infinity-edge pool and spa, a swimming pool, an underground trampoline and, naturally, a superb lawn tennis court perfect for sunsets.

Another runner-up in our survey was this French-inspired mansion in a prestigious inner-Brisbane location, where the ‘epic’ seems to be almost on the ground.

Set on over an acre, 685 Musgrave Road, Robertson is prestigious, grand and luxurious – like the perfect grand slam party. On the market for $25m-$30m, this luxury home offers formal spaces, seven luxurious bedrooms, an indoor heated pool, and a floodlit tennis court surrounded by European gardens.

Next month’s theme for the popular homes to be voted on will be Australia’s most popular beach homes, with the winner announced in late February.
