The TV legend’s former home is up for auction

The late TV presenter Brian Henderson was best known for broadcasting Channel Nine News for 46 years.
The one-time home of the late newsreader Brian Henderson, and his wife Mardi, have come to market in leafy Middle Cove.
Back in 2021, the pioneering presenter’s widow sold the landmark five-bedroom property for $11.5m to Microsoft Australia and New Zealand president Jane Livesey and her husband, former PwC partner Neil Livesey.
Now the renovated five-bedroom contemporary mansion is listed by Michael Coombs and Peter Kakos of Atlas Lower North Shore with a price guide of $14.5m to $15.95m set for its upcoming auction.
The Hendersons bought the 1797sq m property with views over the valley to Fig Tree Cove in 1994 for $850,000.

“Hendo” passed away in 2021.
The Liveseys have sympathetically renovated the modern home to meet 21st century expectations.
They then commissioned renowned architect Mike Macauley to build their dream home amongst the trees.
Popularly known as “Hendo” the newsman lit up the living rooms of Sydneysiders for four decades until his retirement in 2002. He died in 2021.
Surrounded by iconic designer homes, 13 Quarterdeck has featured as a stop on The Middle Cove Walk, a tour organized by the Australian Architecture Association.
From their conservation, the Liveseys have sympathetically renovated the modern home to 21st century expectations with bespoke designer additions throughout.
“It’s a unique design and the renovation is exciting. The owners have managed to create a very luxurious lifestyle; the quality of the design and the beautiful setting have attracted many interested buyers,” said Kakos.
The Hendersons had bought the 1797sq m property for $850,000 in 1994 and commissioned a stunning residence.
