Melbourne auctions: Pascoe Vale buyer’s shock reaction

The auction of 4/88 Northumberland Rd, Pascoe Vale, had a dramatic change on Saturday.

The winner of the Pascoe Vale auction screamed so loudly with joy that worried strangers came to check on him at the weekend.

Stefan Stella of Ray White said the new owner of the unit could not attend the Saturday auction in person due to work commitments.

Instead, he watched on FaceTime while waiting for a flight at Sydney Airport.

Another buyer started bidding with an offer of $590,000, at the lower end of the $590,000-$645,000 range for the two-bedroom house at 4/88 Northumberland Rd.

Mr. Stella said that he is familiar with this woman who likes to fish as she visits different open places in the area.

As a result, during the auction he jokingly promised to tell her the best places to fish for snapper and gummy sharks if he raised his bids.

The unit was put on the market for $660,000.
