Almost 200 luxury apartments are coming to Brisbane’s prime Olympic location, minutes from where the high-profile games will be held.

Consolidated Properties Group (CPG) is preparing to build ‘Gloriette’ at Yeerongpilly Green: a 25-storey tower on King Arthur Tce, with 181 units by the Brisbane River.

The building is a short walk from the Queensland Tennis Center on the same road, which is slated to be the official tennis venue for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Designed by Rothelowman, the building received planning permission last year, and construction is expected to start in July.

The complex sits on an area of 4,323 sqm, with a focus on height to allow more than 2,000 sqm of greenery.

CPG’s head of accommodation James MacGinley said the Gloriette’s name was inspired by the building’s surroundings: the word ‘gloriette’ refers to a building built on the high ground of a park.

“In fact the building area is about half the size that would fit on the site, which allowed for extensive public gardens around the building,” he said.

“The theme of tall slender towers surrounded by a lush garden area is something that will be repeated throughout Yeerongpilly Green.”

The building is being developed as a ‘flagship’ building for the Yeerongpilly Green area: an $850 million master-planned project, in partnership with the state government and CVS Lane Capital.

Most of the units will be between two and three bedrooms.

Starting prices for a two-bedroom apartment start at $1.425m, a three-bedroom home from $2.5m.

Approximately the top five floors of the building are expected to be large units, with details and sales to come later.

Several shared amenities are expected to be included for residents, including a rooftop pool and spa, dining and lounge areas, and a garden.

The health center on level 2 will also include a gym, yoga room, hot and cold pools and sauna.

Mr MacGinley said the boutique opportunity for downsizers would help free up space for homebuyers across the city.

“We had a very good communication with the local people there [developments]he said, citing Tennyson Reach as an example.

“They are actually targeting interested buyers, which is great.

“Our local neighbors have been very supportive of the place we’re creating, and they just want to see it come to life.”

Hutchinson Builders is expected to handle construction, with completion expected by 2029.
