However, in 2017, it was revealed that the duo had split after 22 years of marriage, with reports coming soon after McGregor was in a relationship with his ex-partner, Mary Elizabeth Winsteadmarried him now.

The actor officially filed for divorce in January 2018, citing irreconcilable differences, a move his former partner described as “disappointing and upsetting” in an interview with Solezwe on Sunday.

Following a bitter three-year battle between the estranged spouses, that divorce was finalized in 2020, with court documents revealing at the time that McGregor had agreed to give Mavrakis a share of all residuals and earnings from their relationship.

He also agreed to pay his ex-wife just under $36,000 a month in spousal support, and $14,934 a month in child support for their three children.

Mavrakis was also awarded a five-car collection—although McGregor kept 30—and the Los Angeles home where they raised their three children. Clara, Jamyanagain Esther.

Located in Brentwood, the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion has undergone what the listing describes as “extensive” restorations and renovations in recent years, all of which were designed by Mavrakis.

“Done by the current owner with great taste, quality, and sensibility for original fine architecture with stunning gardens, a beautiful patio area with an outdoor fireplace, a spacious flat yard, great privacy, and beautiful details throughout,” the description continues.

The second level of the house has five bedrooms, all with their own en-suite bathrooms – but the “fantastic primary suite” also comes complete with an array of other luxury features, including a private fireplace and two “furniture level rooms”.

Built in 1930, the home still retains many of its original design features, including “thick cement walls, vaulted ceilings, hand-painted tiles, original hardware and fixtures, iron, stained glass, paneled doors, and hardwood and Saltillo planks.”

According to the listing, the property is currently available for tours—and can be rented starting in early April.

Records show the home was put on the rental market in September 2025 for the same price, but that listing was taken down less than a month later. It is not clear if the property was ever rented at that time.

What the listing fails to mention is the home’s proximity to another very famous residence—the home of a Hollywood legend. Marilyn Monroe he died in 1962.

That house, which was the only house Monroe ever owned, is directly adjacent to Mavrakis’ property, and was recently the subject of a bitter lawsuit filed by its current owners against the city of Los Angeles and the Mayor of LA. Karen Bass after they were forbidden to tear it down.

Roy Bank and his wife, Brinah Milsteinthey bought Monroe’s former home in 2023 for $8.35 million, records show, and almost immediately filed for demolition permits for the iconic residence, according to the New York Post.

However, those plans were scrapped in 2024, when the LA City Council voted to save the site while designating it a historic cultural monument—thus preventing any future attempts to alter or tear it down.

In response, Banks and Milstein filed a lawsuit in California Central District Court in January accusing the city and Bass of “unconstitutionally taking their home”—saying the property is no longer connected to Monroe or her work.

“No trace of Ms. Monroe’s brief time living in the house remained on the property or in the house—and the house has been substantially altered by successive owners over more than 60 years,” the lawsuit, obtained by PEOPLE, says.

In addition, they say the city’s decision to designate their neighborhood a historic landmark has made it a popular tourist destination—while also making it a target for burglaries.

They are asking the court to compel the city to return thirty thousand dollars of the $30,000 they say they used to obtain proper permits for the demolition of the houses, or a fine for their purchase of the house.
