BTC Wobbles at $70K as France Sends Ships to Hormuz and Trump Rejects Peace Deal Attempt (Report)

Meanwhile, Russia has reportedly become the first country to send aid to Iran since the start of the war.

Bitcoin price movements continue to be muted despite recent developments regarding the growing tensions in the Middle East. After today’s major strikes against an important Iranian island, Trump called on many countries to send military ships to protect oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, and France was among the first to respond positively.

At the same time, Omani officials said they tried to broker a peace deal between the US and Iran, but to no avail.

France Exports Ships

CryptoPotato It was reported earlier on Saturday that the US military carried out a targeted operation on the Iranian island of Kharg Island, which the POTUS described as “the most powerful bombing raid in the history of the Middle East.” However, he added that the US has not deliberately attacked any oil infrastructure but has threatened to do so if Iran interferes in any way with the free and safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Hours later, Trump called on other countries, including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the UK, to send “Warships” to the region to ensure the Strait remains open and safe. Reports from the past few minutes suggested that France agreed to the message of the American President, sending 10 warships to the region. However, the UK has refused to send any military aircraft carriers as of press time.

In a separate development on this issue, the Kobeissi Letter reported that Russia became the first country to help Iran in an official way after the start of the war, sending 13 tons of medical aid.

No Peace Deal Yet

Another recent report revealed that Omani officials “reached out to the US in an effort to make a peace deal with Iran,” but the US President refused.

Some of the details on the matter suggest that Oman tried “multiple times” to open a line of communication, but the White House was “not interested.” According to a senior official quoted in the Trump administration, the President is “focused on moving forward with the war.”
