While many of Wright’s iconic works are located in the Midwest and East Coast, he also spent part of his later years working in the Southwest—the place where Swaback first studied with the famous designer.
Swaback trained under Wright at Taliesin West in Scottsdale, AZ, which served as the architect’s winter home, studio, and architecture school. He joined the fellowship in 1957 as one of the last students before Wright’s death in 1959.
While Swaback’s home offers a more modern aesthetic than the contemporary designs Wright is best known for, the listing agent. Scott notes that this deep connection to the environment is very difficult to find in the Las Vegas Valley.
“Swaback brings a unique structure to the desert,” Scott said. “The view from every room and on a private pool in Las Vegas like this is very different.”
The 12,015-square-foot lakefront property reflects Wright’s architectural principles with clean horizontal lines, natural materials, and expansive glass that seamlessly connect indoors and out.
Interior highlights include a climate-controlled wine display, a private office, spa bathrooms, and a chef’s kitchen complete with premium appliances. This property also has a large RV garage with air conditioning.
Outdoor amenities also elevate the setting, with a 60-foot pool, a built-in barbecue, and a private boat dock next to the lake. The home sits within The Estates at Lake Las Vegas, a gated community known for its privacy and exclusive waterfront lifestyle.
“The main living space opens up to bring the outdoors in,” Scott said. “At sunset and sunrise the desert mountains shine with a light unlike any other place in the valley.”

Beyond the architectural pedigree, the area also reflects a broader trend shaping the region: the steady influx of high-end buyers from California and other high-end coastal markets.
“Since I’ve been here in 2017, I’ve seen tremendous growth—80% of my clients are from California, and I understand the benefits of relocating personally being from California myself,” Scott said.
Indeed, according to the latest Realtor.com® data, by 2025, nearly 25% of online listing views in Las Vegas came from California metro users, down from 2023’s peak of 27%, but an impressive number nonetheless.
