CZ Pushes Back on Negative News, Sees US as Future Crypto Hub

CZ says that for the US to become the world’s crypto capital, it must increase competition and liquidity, as well as improved infrastructure.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), one of the leading figures in the crypto industry, shared his beliefs about the growth of the growing sector.
As the founder and former CEO of Binance, CZ has seen the growth of the industry over the past decade. The billionaire believes that further developments, including wider institutional acquisitions and mainstream recognition, await the industry in the future.
Telling a Bad Story
The founder of Binance shared his thoughts during an interview with the Digital Chamber (TDC). TDC is an American blockchain advocacy group that hosted the recently concluded DC Blockchain conference. CZ interviewed TDC founder and board chair Perianne Boring during a remote interview.
The discussion mainly touched on the media’s narrative about the crypto industry, with CZ insisting that the media is divided. According to the billionaire, the mainstream media portrays the wider industry in a single, inaccurate light. Negative narratives have become more complex, with different stakeholders pursuing different media angles.
Adding to the media narrative on his reputation and that of Binance, CZ said that much of what was said about him and the exchange was untrue. This is seen in US courts dismissing cases related to lack of evidence. He acknowledged that crypto-native news outlets generally understand him, a development he attributes to his regular communication with X. Therefore, it is safe to say that his lack of contact with traditional media is one of the reasons for the misunderstanding and misunderstanding.
Can the US Become a Global Crypto Hub?
In an effort to correct the story being told about him, CZ will launch a biography in the coming months. He began writing the book while in prison in 2024, after pleading guilty to violating anti-money laundering laws. He believes that the media narrative of the wider sector will change over time as crypto continues to be adopted.
In addition, CZ noted that the current US administration is also facing a backlash in supporting crypto. He emphasized that there is a partial element in the repeated efforts to fight crypto. Regardless of these criticisms, the US has the potential to become the crypto capital of the world; however, this can happen under a few circumstances.
