Block 2026 Contestants Revealed – First Photos

Filming began in March on The Block 2026 and we got our first glimpse of the contestants when they met Scotty Cam for a site visit on the first day of filming. This year we have a brand new cast with 5 groups of new faces.
There may be spoilers ahead, so read carefully. Here’s what we know about the contestants so far.
The green team – Chantel and Wyatt from the Gold Coast
Chantel Green and Wyatt were the first team identified by fans due to Chantel’s social media presence and her signature long black hair and Wyatt’s well-known tattoos.

The couple both have strong fitness-focused social media followings, and Chantel is also the founder of Her Form activewear and a mother of 3, so she’s used to working out or multitasking.

Wyatt is a military veteran and fitness trainer, and has an acting agency so we expect he’ll be comfortable in front of the camera. She discovered her love of fitness after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just before she turned 22.

He says “his job is to inspire, teach, and show others that no obstacle is too big to overcome.”
Chantal and Wyatt also have an app, FindingForm, so they often work closely together and it seems like a lot of fun working together, a background that will come in handy when you’re working hard on The Block for 12 weeks.
Green team – Tayla and Rick from Melbourne
Tayla Perroomal and her father Rick were also quickly identified by fans.

Tayla, with her signature long haircut, and Rick has a hometown advantage, hailing from Melbourne and no stranger to it.
Tayla runs Brow Sanctuary in Williamstown and has also worked as a personal trainer. With a beauty-focused background, we expect Tayla to be working on the design side — even though she has a background in personal training, she’s likely to outperform the male contestants when it’s time to pull off the outfits.

While Tayla has a decent social media following of over 17 thousand, her twin, Shannen Jai Peroomal, has 222 thousand followers on Instagram and is the co-host of the Still Not Straight podcast. Tayla is also a mother, she often shares fun activities on social media.
Rick is no stranger to tools, running his own business, T & S Restorations since 1995, building and renovating homes. That’s over 30 years of building experience – but will you be able to keep up with The Block’s speed?
The Pink Team – An all-female team
Our all-female team this year is the pink team.
Another contestant has long blonde hair and her counterpart on The Block has light brown hair. The latter was spotted wearing stilettos and a gold sequin top on her first day on site – maybe these two are our reno rookies of the year?

We will update this article as we learn more about them.
Red team – Couples from the Outback
The red team this year entered the competition with their famous cowboy hats, which look like they just came straight from the cattle ranch.
Their signature look was done through a promotional photoshoot.

Yellow group – Couples
Our last couple this year is the yellow group. In their promotional photos, the female member of the group is seen wearing her hair in long braids and a skirt while her partner wears a t-shirt over his yellow top, which shows off the tradie’s rear. Will this potential clash of experiences be a match made in heaven or a cause for drama?
