Biggest Wealth Transfer Is About to Happen to Altcoins, Analyst Warns

One final bull area that has disappointed investors is the fact that altcoins seem to be falling behind completely against Bitcoin. Going by previous bull markets, the expectation is that altcoins will rally when the price of Bitcoin is high, leading to a ‘popular altcoin season.’ Although nothing has happened since then, many in the space have not given up hope for the altcoin era, predicting that it is only a matter of time before altcoins converge again.
Altcoins Are Ready To Take Off
Crypto analyst Cryptollica shared a chart showing that altcoins have actually been trading interestingly for a while. According to the post, these cryptocurrencies have been pressing inside a large wedge, and this did not start recently.
Cryptollica has revealed that the total altcoin market has actually been compressed within this great conclusion since 2018. This would mean that it has been this way for more than seven years, and that even the explosive altcoin season that took place in 2021-2022 also took place within this large peninsula.
Using the same trend over the years, the crypto analyst shows that the altcoin market has actually regressed in 2025. A similar trend was seen at the beginning of 2021, after which a famous altcoin season followed which saw various altcoins beat many new altcoins in quick time.
If the crypto analyst is right and the altcoin market is about to break out of this wedge, it will be very bullish in price. The analyst predicts an increase of more than 500%, which means that the popularity of Ethereum, Solana, and other altcoins will be hitting all-time highs.

Altcoin Season Index Remains Neutral
The Altcoin Season Index measures how the top 100 altcoins are performing against Bitcoin. The more altcoins perform better than Bitcoin, the more likely the market will experience an altcoin season. This index charts performance on a scale of 1-100, and in the altcoin era, the index sits above 75.
Currently, the index is sitting at 50, which means that the altcoin era is not here yet. Bitcoin’s dominance has since dropped below 60%, but remains at a very high 58.8%. Therefore, it is unlikely that the altcoin era begins now. This is because altcoin season tends to occur when Bitcoin’s dominance declines.
