Wealth Guru Pam Sowder Lists Her Florida Dream Home for $13 Million—After Her Next Home Goes Home

Author and podcaster Pam Sowder has made a career out of teaching others to amass the same kind of multi-million dollar wealth he amassed 30 years ago—and now, he’s giving his most devoted fans a chance to use that wealth by buying him his “dream” Florida home for just under $13 million.
Those who have read Sowder’s 2021 book, “Rich Girl, Poor Girl,” or listened to her podcast will no doubt be familiar with the Sarasota residence, where the wealth expert has lived “unapologetically” for the past 12 years.
However, Sowder and her husband now have the opportunity to live another dream—by building a custom megamansion next to their longtime home, an experience that was too good to pass up, according to the listing’s participants. Montana Taplinger again Katy McBrayer and Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
“They loved it so much they built a home next door,” Taplinger said. “The land became available and they had never built a home from the ground up, so they wanted to have that knowledge, but they loved the place, the view, and the way of life so much that they built close to the place.”
Now work continues on their custom site, Sowder, co-founder of the network marketing company It Works!, and his the rest residence, which includes approximately 8,000 square feet, is on the market for $12.99 million.

Taplinger notes that the property offers all the luxuries a “rich girl” could hope for, including high ceilings, high-end materials, and beautiful waterfront views—one of the many reasons Sowder decided to build her custom home nearby so she wouldn’t lose access to those vistas.
“Every little detail is very high quality in this home, from the woodwork to the ceiling, everything is built. You get this feeling of real quality when you walk in the door,” Taplinger said. “It’s beautiful and elegant, but you feel that all the materials are of a high quality as well.”
The move home was built in 2009 and Sowder and her husband, Davidhe bought it in 2014.
“The current owners have done a great job in every room choosing finishes and upgrades,” Taplinger said. “Every detail has been thought of and done.”
In total, the property has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, including a guest house that serves as its own separate space.
“It’s like a studio apartment. You walk up and you have a little kitchen and living area, a bedroom, and a full bathroom,” Taplinger continued. “I think this space is very nice to have a place where your guests have their privacy. They sit with you in the space, but they have their own space.”
The master bedroom is on the main floor and in addition to large wardrobes and a bathroom, it has an outdoor shower and more.
“The master bedroom feels calm and comfortable. You feel like you’re in a resort,” Taplinger said, adding that the office space is just off the ground floor. “You have a view of the water and the lake. I love it. I feel like it’s a cozy, luxurious place.”
Another office space in the house is a rarity in Florida homes, a two-story wood-paneled space with a spiral staircase leading to bookshelves.
“It’s definitely a place for someone who has a collection of good books or who really appreciates reading and the place of a library. I’ve never seen a library like it,” he said. “It has a really cozy feel to it.”
Most typical of the Florida home is the emphasis on indoor/outdoor living. The main living area opens directly to the outside areas.

“There is an outdoor kitchen there [the sellers] use all the time and there is an outdoor fireplace with cozy seating.” If I lived there I would think I had that place. [slider] open all the time.”
The pool is a prominent feature of this property.
“You have a pool at the top of the first level and then a waterfall that goes down to the second pool where you can sunbathe near the harbor area,” he said. “When you first enter the house, your eye goes straight to the lake so it looks like an endless lake where it continues into the bay.”
The basement pool is adjacent to the boat dock with access to deep water. All with a view of the Sarasota skyline and private beach access.
There’s also plenty of room for luxury, something Taplinger says today’s consumers are looking for.
“You have a full gym and then you have a steam room and you have a sauna as well. In most people’s homes, you have one or the other. This is both.”
The home also has a chef’s kitchen, wine cellar, theater room, wet and dry closets, and a game room.
It’s that high-end lifestyle that Taplinger says should attract the buyer of this .4-acre property in the gated community of Lido Shores.
He says: “You’re from the city, but I will tell you that when you step behind the gates and into the house, you feel like you’re in your own retreat. You have all the conveniences of being close to restaurants, shops, and downtown, but you feel like you’re in your own vacation home.”
It’s the lifestyle that keeps the Sowders close.
“They’re interested in choosing their neighbors. I think it speaks volumes for the lifestyle of that area,” Taplinger said. “You don’t see that often. Usually, people sell and move on to something different, so I think it gives the buyer real confidence that this is going to be a place they’re going to love living.”
