Why Trump Wants Greenland And Why Is It So Important?

Why does Donald Trump want Greenland and why is it so important? And did we just witness the massive “Polymarket Greenland” betting scandal?

President Trump pretends the doctors have told him he has six months left as he talks about dealing with Colombia, Iran, and Greenland, all at the same time. Surprisingly, the markets have not responded.

So what happened next, and this is it

What Crypto and Stocks Should I Buy Before Greenland Takes Over?

The United States must have money because of the sweep of Venezuela and that is why it wants to buy Greenland.

Trump’s cabinet is reportedly sending a request directly to the government of Greenland regarding the request to join the United States:

  • Reports say that it is apparently more favorable to entice them to join
  • There are only 57,000 people there. You could have paid 100,000 per person and it would only cost $5.7 Bn.

So why does the US need Greenland?

Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump was tight-lipped about the issues:

“It’s a very good strategy. Right now, Greenland is covered by Russian and Chinese ships everywhere. We need Greenland from a national security point of view.” – Donald Trump, US President

The White House later confirmed that a “range of options” were being considered, including possible military action. That escalation caused panic across Europe, with Danish officials warning that any US involvement would kill NATO.

Greenland sits along the GIUK gap, an important lynchpin connecting the Arctic and Atlantic, and lies directly next to the shortest missile route between Russia and the continental United States.

Beyond geography, Greenland holds vast untapped reserves of rare earth elements and minerals important for EVs, wind turbines, energy storage, and defense systems.

Our readers need to be aware that all of these country upheavals are driving market instability in the crypto markets and will likely continue until some sort of resolution is found.

Has “Polymarket Greenland” Betting Been A Scam During All This?

(Source: Polymarket)

Amidst all this, Polymarket may have confused its users. After the US military arrested Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, the platform declared that the act did not meet the contractual definition of an “attack,” leaving more than $10.5 Mn in bets unsettled and users fuming as the odds dropped to 5%.

One mysterious trader seemed to be waiting for Polymarket’s decision, his $30,000 sale to replace a $400,000 position that this was technically “not a raid.”

That’s the thing, whenever major market makers, forecasters, DAOs or anything is involved, the meaning of anything can be twisted, the goals can be temporary or redefined, all for the benefit of whoever is behind the scenes.

Think of betting like this: “He was wearing a suit.”

However, what if it was a tuxedo… which isn’t technically a suit? All the hours you spent analyzing the news, geopolitics and measuring opportunities… wasted.

The world is so messed up right now that we would have no trouble believing that America could solve many of these geopolitical situations. And for all that, Polymarket is losing its credibility.
