A renovated 1970’s Hawaiian-inspired home on the Mornington Peninsula is seeking to sell for up to $8m-$8.8m.
A mid-century Sorrento-style pad called Kona Kahlua has been described as a place where singer and actor Elvis Presley, a noted Hawaiian fan, would feel at home.

Mr Anderson said the original owner named it after their favorite holiday spot in Hawaii.
The current owners of the house loved this groovy abode and restored it when they bought it ten years ago.
They have since rented the house as a temporary residence and have obtained planning permission to build a new modern house, designed by Inarc Architects, on a 1233sq m site.

Mr Warwick said they would transfer the plans to the new owners even though he had a soft spot for the existing house with a good view of the water.
“It’s like a ‘top seventies’ motel,” he said.
“Elvis would feel at home there.”
Kona Kahlua is furnished with 1970s-style furniture as well.
Apart from the parking spaces, there is a parking space for three or four cars outside the house.
Some episodes of the 1966 film Paradise, Hawaiian Style starring Elvis were shot on Hawaii’s Kona Coast.
The official Graceland blog states that Hawaii was Elvis’ favorite vacation spot and the setting for his most famous film, Blue Hawaii.
Mr Warwick said the Mornington Peninsula house offered views across Sullivan Bay and Cameron’s Bight towards Arthur’s Seat.
“The Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron and all the marinas are needed,” Mr Warwick said.
“There are a lot of boats and a lot of work, and you’re looking up at the beach.”

The house has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, five bedrooms including a self-contained studio, three bathrooms, a rumpus room, a mudroom and laundry and two double garages.
Kona Kahlua is just 2km to both Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron and Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club.
The house is within walking distance of Sorrento and Blairgowrie shops and restaurants, Tideways beach, Blairgowrie Marina, walks and parks.
“If you’re a boating enthusiast and you’re into the best boats, the big boats, you can go to Blairgowrie,” Mr Warwick said.
“But if you like small, Couta boats, then you have Sorrento just around the corner.”
The home’s previous owner, a shipowner, had kept all his boats in Kona Kahlua, Mr. Warwick said.
