Pi Network Users Criticize Core Group After Festival Post

The first Friday of February was supposed to be a happy day for the Pi Network, but it’s back.

Although it was created more than half a decade ago, the controversial Pi Network project and its traditional token were officially launched less than a year ago. Since then, the Core Team has made many updates, worked with AI, and tried to improve some of its sluggish systems, but the results have been… mixed, so far.

The latest post from the Core Team was meant to be great and celebrate a valid part of the larger Pi Network community. However, it quickly drew a major backlash.

Celebrating Pi Network Moderators

Every First Friday of February (FFF day), Pi celebrates President’s Appreciation Day! Today is about seeing the moderators who make the Pi Network community what it is. Thank you to all Pi presidents for their incredible volunteer efforts in support of the Pi community—helping…

The video itself tried to identify the moderators who “make the Pi Network community what it is,” as they are volunteers and are not employed or paid by the Core Team. They help balance charts, answer Pioneer questions, monitor Pi applications and products, report bugs, and test new features.

Additionally, they translate the Pi into other languages, moderate the Fireside Forums, and try to keep the discussions useful, safe, and respectful.

“After answered questions, updates, and discussion forums, Moderators help ensure that the Pi experience works well for everyone!”

To step back

It was a statement like the last one that caught the attention of some Pi Network Pioneers. Although many users agreed that Moderators should be praised and respected, others raised valid questions about the lack of visible progress in certain areas.

Joann&Joe called on the Core Team to “speed up progress—it’s been pulled over and over again,” after pointing out that they should “stop messing around with all this nonsense.”

Chialo20’s method was the same, indicating that the team behind the Pi Network had held it “for 7 years and now not to transport my Pi characters, it’s just a migration phase, and this is wrong.”

AA Gada tried to remind the Core Team that “many pioneers are still stuck in ‘temporary approval’ with their KYC status. We hope you can improve this situation.”

It is worth noting that the team recently published an update saying that it has opened millions of mainnet migrations, and promised new changes soon.
