A True ‘Texafornia’ of Art: Stunning Malibu-Inspired Estate Hits the Market in Austin for $6 Million

A luxury resort boasting all the charm of a Malibu mansion has hit the market in Austin—bringing the essence of Texas to life.

The spacious residence, measuring up to 9,000 square feet, is located in a toy area called The Estates of Barton Creek, just a few miles east of the bustling city of Austin.

Located at 3304 Barton Creek Blvd., the six-bedroom property emulates tropical design influences with stunning interiors and lush gardens—a rare combination in Texas.

From the moment you arrive, the property, which sits on more than 1.4 hectares, makes an impression, with a gated entrance and mature oaks framing the home’s clean architectural lines.

Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the main living spaces with light and open to tiered terraces, curated landscaping, and a pool-scape designed to feel more like a private residence than a simple backyard.

According to the listing agent Leslie Gossett of Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty, that atmosphere was intended from the beginning—centered on the desire to create a taste of Malibu living in the heart of Texas.

“The first builders moved here from Malibu and started to recreate that same sense of coastal, Texas-style recreation,” Gossett said.

“The current owners told me that when they first moved in, it reminded them of the R20 million properties you see along the coast of Malibu. This was always meant to feel like a place, not just a house.”

Inside, the open floor plan allows light, views, and natural elements to become part of the design itself. The home has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half baths, balancing open and private entertaining spaces.

“There’s a cool, almost Balinese feel to the design,” says Gossett. “Clean and timeless, with a thoughtful integration between indoor and outdoor spaces that is almost photographic.”

Outside, covered living and dining areas flow onto the pool and landscaped pool with waterfall. A newly constructed private pickleball court, along with an outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, add further appeal.

“Buyers at this level want spaces that feel functional but memorable,” says Gossett. “Here, all the principal’s rooms open to the outside, and the facilities are really controlled. It’s luxurious, but it’s also incredibly livable.”

One of the most distinctive recent additions is a dedicated residence with a fully equipped gym, cold plunge, sauna, and red light therapy tower, reflecting the growing emphasis on health-oriented luxury.

The primary suite has also been updated with a spa-inspired bath, soaking tub, steam shower, and large custom closet.

“This upgrade brings a modern sensibility to the home without compromising its original feel,” notes Gossett. “Everything feels intentional.”

Lined with palm trees and overlooking manicured grounds, complete with a beautiful blue pool, the home couldn’t be out of place in Palm Springs, where its clean lines and elegant resort-style architecture would fit in well.

However, its location in Austin is actually one of the many architectural elements that make it so attractive.

Given its exclusive location, this property offers privacy while being close to golf, hiking and biking trails, Lake Austin, and the shops and restaurants of southwest Austin.

“This is not just a home—it’s a lifestyle,” Gossett said. “You’re surrounded by nature, but you’re still close to everything that defines Austin life.”
