Bidding war erupts at Manly star’s $2.455m offshore auction

Celebrity star Jake Trbojevic and his physiotherapist wife Alix have sold their Narrabeen apartment on Sydney’s Northern Beaches under the hammer for $2.455 million.

Situated close to the beach, this well presented apartment was snapped up by a couple who wanted to move to the area and live close to their grandchildren.

Mr Trbojevic and his family bought a modern house near Narrabeen Lake for $5.15 million this month.

Location: A two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at 2/4 Narrabeen Street, Narrabeen sold at auction for $2.455 million on Thursday 5 February.

The well-presented house had a house-like layout, with open-plan living and dining areas flowing onto an open-plan outdoor entertaining area and manicured lawn.

Image of the suburb: Narrabeen is 23 kilometers north-east of Sydney city centre, known for its beaches, parks, cafes and coastal life.

The median price for a two-bedroom apartment in Narrabeen is $1.24 million, as of January 2026, according to PropTrack data.

The median house price in Narrabeen rose 48.7% over the past 12 months to $4.46 million, while units fell 3.4% to $1.225 million.

Lachlan Yeates, a real estate agent and director in the Upstate, oversees the campaign and spoke to realestate.com.au about the outcome of the huge auction.

What was the most interesting thing about this place?

It’s a small block of flats with a lift, so it suited the lower, still very active market.

Another interesting point is that we are seeing a shift in the two-bedroom market. Buyers weren’t interested in them five years ago, but three-bedroom house prices are so strong that we’re seeing a boost in two-bedroom properties.

How did the campaign and auction go?

We ran a three week campaign with a fourth week auction. We had 163 inquiries and over 100 attendees during the 21 days of marketing and then into Thursday night’s auction. We had six registered buyers at the auction, and auction activity was strong.

Bidding came down to bids of $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000. We had $2.4 million in cash and the bid went in on top of it.

What kind of customers did you see during the campaign?

It was suitable for everyone, and it attracted consumers young and old. Small families loved it, but it would be difficult to fit two bedrooms with children, even if it was the space they wanted.

The garden opened onto the street, and the property was situated between the lake and the sea. The road was nice and quiet, and it was in this little place on a small plateau between the sea on one side and the lake on the other.

Did it help to have a high profile vendor?

It really helped some buyers because people like to buy from someone with a profile. But it wasn’t a big deal for the people who bought it.

They were just happy and thankful that he was nice and accommodating, and helped them with their terms, and was very considerate of what they needed to buy.

Local forecasts?

Narrabeen is really central to the Northern beaches and I think it will thrive. The position of Narrabeen is really fortunate with Wakehurst Parkway into town. You can also go up Powderworks Road, which takes you up Monavale Road to go up the north coast.
