Hollywood Heritage Working Winery in the Heart of Central California Lists for $7 Million

Historic, Central California winery, founded in 1900, now ready to harvest.
This property was first listed in early 2025, and after a nearly two million price reduction, it’s on the market for $6,995,000.
The 577.65 hectare estate has been used for a variety of purposes, including boutique wine production, a family retreat and a wedding event center. It is also used as a breeding ground for cattle, horses, chicken, sheep and pigs.
While it’s currently quiet, syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, zinfandel, and Pinot Noir grapes are still growing on the farm, located off Highway 58 in Creston, a triangular area with Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, in the heart of Central California’s wine country.
One of the main attractions of this property is that it comes fully furnished and includes everything you need to live the luxurious life of a vineyard.

There are more than 22 acres of vineyards, a well-maintained production infrastructure that includes a 9,700-square-foot wine building, a 10,000-square-foot barrel room, and numerous warehouses and outbuildings—even the president’s winery.
The estate is known around the world for producing the wine that is served at the White House during the President’s term George HW BushFirst presentation.
But that’s not its only interesting claim to celebrity fame. In 1982, the Creston Manor winery was established on the property by partners Larry again Stephanie Rosenbloom again Christina Crawford with her husband, David Koontz.
You may recognize Crawford’s name as the famous daughter of Joan Crawford and the author of the tell-all book “Mommy Dearest,” which was later adapted into a hit movie Faye Dunaway.
In 1986, Crawford and Koonz began withdrawing their involvement in the winery, and investors were sought to take over their share of the business. Among them were Alex Trebek of “Jeopardy” fame, was a respected wine collector.
The family that owns this storied property today has owned it for over 25 years.
“True, the world is a star,” said the listing agent Mike Goldfarb of Coldwell Banker Realty, his parents, Barry again Donna Goldfarbthey are the current owners. He shared the list with him Lindsey Harnof Christie’s International Real Estate Sereno.
“Rolling hills, three lakes, sunsets. There are gazebos scattered everywhere, so you can walk or drive outside, open a bottle of wine, and just sit with it. It’s peaceful and magical,” said Goldfarb.
“The most important thing is how many different ways you can use the space. There are real ones
the ability to make money from wine, ranching, or farming; but it’s also incredibly effective
and family area or residence. With most houses, you can easily host 25 or 30 people comfortably. It feels like summer camp for adults.”

The possibilities for farming or farms are enhanced by the fact that it has its own water system, which includes two productive wells, six storage tanks of 6,000 tanks, and four 2,500-gallon tanks that can fully address all the hydration needs of the vineyard and livestock, as well as the use of hospitality and privacy.
The beautiful lakes of this area are filled with recent rains.
On the Goldfarbs watch, the living and hospitality areas have been expanded to 11 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms in many apartments and guest bedrooms—perfect for private use, staff housing, or commercial accommodation.
Accommodations include a main house with three bedrooms and three baths; the Gray House with two bedrooms and two baths; the Yellow House, also with two bedrooms and two baths; Original Yellow House with three bedrooms and two baths; and the three-bedroom, three-bath Green House, according to the listing.
In addition, there is a private honeymoon suite with one bedroom and one bath, a 926-square-foot game and entertainment room with bathtub and a patio with a pizza oven; and additional hosting facilities, including a large historic barn, which has been used for weddings, philanthropy, and events at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Domestic and four-legged animals are equally well accommodated, as the property includes fully fenced pastures and livestock pens and sheds, as well as rugged terrain, ponds, and open spaces for aquatic and wildlife.
Currently there are cattle, horses, chickens, goats, and pigs all negotiable as part of the sale. An immeasurable amount of wildlife is apparently included in the price.

“This has been in my family for over 25 years, and it’s been a very special place for us,” Goldfarb said. “It was where we gathered as a family, celebrated events, and spent time together in a way that is hard to replicate anywhere else. And it was something that my parents poured a lot of energy into as a business project and passion.”
Goldfarb says his parents’ primary home is in Los Angeles, and they don’t get to the winery as often as they used to.
“Selling it is bittersweet, but it feels like the right time. It’s the right place
it’s thoroughly enjoyed and worked out, and there’s something really exciting about a new idea
owners come to create their own memories and legacy there, the same way we do,” he said.
Joint listing agent Harn admits it’s a wonderful retreat in the wine world.
“Whether you’re interested in winemaking, or you’re just looking for an incredible place to host friends and family on your dude ranch—from riding, fishing, shooting, riding ATVs, hosting events, or generating vacation rental income, this area has endless opportunities and an amazing history,” he says.
