Fitness advocate Kayla Itsines is buying a $13m Gold Coast mansion

Fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines has bought a Gold Coast mansion

Fitness advocate Kayla Itsines has splashed out $13 million on a stunning waterfront mansion, ending the confusing search for her next trophy home.

The founder of the Sweat app and her husband, Jae Woodroffe, have been quietly exploring the Gold Coast’s hot market, checking out a number of properties in the wealthiest areas of south-east Queensland.

The couple even considered renting, before finally snapping up their dream home in Mermaid Waters ahead of an auction scheduled for later this month.

Their show property on a 2280 sqm triple block has 81.5m of water frontage.

A five-bedroom, four-bathroom luxury home including a tennis court, infinity pool, wine cellar, built-in trampoline, luxury marble entertainment terrace, pontoon and boat shed at the water’s edge.

Isines, one of the world’s leading health advocates with a social media following of over 15 million people, admitted that hunting for the perfect property was not easy, prompting her to contact a buyer’s agent.

The five bedroom home has a tropical colonial style.

“We had trouble finding him in the beginning, but since then we have brought Luke [Serhan] and Cohen Handler’s team on the board built a really strong relationship,” he said.

“They have helped us access and secure the right properties at the right time, and we are excited to continue working together as we grow our portfolio in the future.”

The acquisition adds to an already impressive property portfolio. In March 2024, Isines sold his renovated 1920s bungalow in the Adelaide suburb of Malvern for a record-breaking $7.375m.

Her move to Queensland that same year brought her closer to her fiancé and business partner, Tobi Pearce, with whom she shares a daughter, Arna. Isines married Woodroffe in December 2023. The couple has a young son, Jax.

Isines and Pearce became world famous for their Bikini Fitness guides before launching the successful Sweat app.

The business was sold to US giant iFIT for a reported US$150m in 2021, before the pair bought it out in 2023, bringing their estimated value to around $170m each.

Isines’ new Mermaid Waters mega-mansion was initially viewed off the market before officially going on the market with Gypsea Youngsmith and Michael Kollosche, of Kollosche.

Cohen Handler Gold Coast agent Luke Serhan, who negotiated the Isines deal, said land grabs of this scale were rare.

“When clients work at Kayla’s level of global profile, the process becomes more than just finding a location,” said Mr Serhan.

“It’s about opening doors to opportunities rarely seen in the broader market and ensuring that acquisitions are aligned with lifestyle and sound investment strategies.”

Design features include marble tiling.

There is even a tennis court.

Completed in 2023 by DB Build, the home won the President’s Award at the 2024 Gold Coast Housing and Construction Awards.

Its Tropical Colonial design by Sydney architects Hicks and Holmsted is defined by vaulted ceilings, French doors and wide verandas.

“The effect is very similar to a private resort,” says selling agent Gypsea Youngsmith.

“You can easily walk between the house, the pool, the tennis court, and there is a lot of space for the kids to play freely in the gardens or fish on the beach.

“The way of life is amazing.”

Ms Youngsmith said the suburb was booming, with the latest price of $13m sitting just below Mermaid Water’s residential record of $14.005m set last year.

There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The home has a walk-in wine cellar.
