Construction starts at Ashcroft rental homes for over 50 years

Millbray’s emerging active community operator is making its mark on Queensland’s land rental sector, with a growing portfolio and a new lifestyle for the over 50s.
Its flagship project, Ashcroft, is underway in Flagstone as construction continues and the first residents are expected to move in later this year.
Ashcroft will soon be joined by new Millbray communities in Highfields, north of Toowoomba, with more projects in the planning stages across Australia.
Millbray general manager of development Matt Fedrick said Ashcroft, like all Millbray communities, will be launched under the Millbray Made philosophy – guiding design principles that put lifestyle first.
Millbray’s flagship project, Ashcroft, is under construction at 125 College Drive, Flagstone.
“The Millbray Made philosophy brings a fresh perspective to the over 50s, delivering communities that elevate the quality of life for our residents by ensuring that every home is purpose-built, delivered with care, and designed to last a lifetime,” he said.
“Every detail has been taken care of, from special resident services that encourage genuine connection, to home designs that provide space without unnecessary maintenance.
“For residents, it’s about the experience and the end product – beautiful and functional housing designs set in a vibrant, connected and welcoming environment.
“Ashcroft is just the beginning – with other projects underway, our team is bringing together decades of experience to build a growing national portfolio of communities.”
Ashcroft will deliver 293 one-level two- and three-bedroom homes, priced from $575,000, and 5000sq m of resort-style amenities.
Mr Fedrick said residents will own their own homes and lease land from Millbray as a community owner using a land lease model.
“The land lease model is a clear way to help our residents plan ahead and focus on enjoying life, connecting with their community, and participating in the growth of the local market,” he said.
“Our residents have a lot of certainty with no stamp duty, no council tax, and when it’s time to sell, they keep any profit on the home without the exit fee.”
The 12ha Ashcroft masterplan is Flagstone’s first land lease community and will offer 293 two- and three-bedroom one-level homes, alongside 5000sq m of resort-style amenities.
Amenities include a clubhouse with kitchen, bar, sports lounge, cinema, library, craft room, outdoor barbecues, 25m heated pool, spa, gym, bowling green, pickleball courts and golf simulator.
Mr Fedrick said Ashcroft offers independence in a thriving community spirit.
“Every aspect of this community is intentional, from the connected walkways and green spaces to the arrival experience that fills residents with a sense of pride when they come home, or when friends and family visit,” he said.
“It’s also secure and gated for peace of mind. Ashcroft homes incorporate modern design to capture the best of Queensland living, with light-filled floor plans, open entertaining areas and front porches, as well as practical storage solutions and a large garage nose.
“Resort-style amenities prioritize health and wellness, including accommodations and amenities, allowing residents to create a lifestyle that suits who they are today.”
The 12ha masterplan site is located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in one of South East Queensland’s fastest growing areas.
The main clubhouse is the focal point for community interaction and features a kitchen, bar, sports lounge, cinema, library, craft room, and outdoor barbecues. The resort also includes a 25m heated swimming pool, spa, gym, bowling green, pickleball courts and a golf simulator.
Mr Fedrick said Ashcroft was surrounded by green parks in an elevated position with easy access to the city, coast and country, as well as being a short walk from supermarkets, retail and restaurants and medical facilities.
“Positioned between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in one of South East Queensland’s fastest growing corridors, Ashcroft is perfect for over 50s who are still working, or just looking for more time for what’s important,” he said.
“Construction is underway, and we expect to welcome the first residents later this year.
A Public Disclosure Event will be held on Friday, March 20, at 9 a.m. at Flagstone Vista Park.
“Ashcroft heralds a new era of living, with many Millbray communities to follow.”
Ashcroft’s new homes are priced from $575,000, with the first sales release later this month.
