A Sanctuary Lakes lakeside home with a pool and sweeping water views is unconditional at $2.1m, one of the top sales results of the Australia Day weekend.
The five-bedroom house at 59 Sanctuary Lakes South Boulevard was quoted with a guide price of $2m-$2.2m before a local buyer confirmed the property, with the sale completed over the long weekend.
Nunzio Giunta of Barry Plant Point Cook said the buyer had moved in earnest.

“It was a great result and the house symbolizes the Australian way of life,” Mr Giunta said.
“With the pool, the alfresco area and its location on the lake, it has all the elements of a great family home and something Australians really connect with.”
The home attracted more than 20 groups through inspections during the campaign, with three to four buyers showing genuine interest.
Mr Giunta said competition was driven by buyers familiar with the tightly held Sanctuary Lakes property, with the successful buyer coming from the local area.
“The buyer was in the area, down the road,” he said.
The frontage of 59 Sanctuary Lakes South Boulevard, Sanctuary Lakes, is an unconditional five-bedroom lake home for $2.1m after being quoted at $2m–$2.2m.
An outstanding kitchen was among the features that helped drive strong buyer interest in the Sanctuary Lakes home, which went unconditional for $2.1m over the Australia Day weekend.
“People who know Sanctuary Lakes understand how rare it is to protect a home from water, especially this type.”
When the property was built about 20 years ago, Mr Giunta said it was ahead of its time when it was built and continues to keep pace with modern buyers.
“Features such as square cornices, solid timbers and floating staircases were the art of the time, and are still in high demand today,” he said.
The dining area flows into the home entertainment areas, a key drawcard for buyers competing for Sanctuary Lakes property.

The view of the canal from the deck was a moment when buyers could not fully appreciate the pictures, a big factor behind the unconditional result of $2.1m.
Mr Giunta said the home brought a sense of relaxation that is often associated with resorts.
“It’s a place where you can imagine spending a long weekend with family and friends without going anywhere,” he said.
The strong result came despite the busy Australia Day period in Melbourne, with major events such as the Australian Open competing for consumer attention.
Mr Giunta said the sale showed that buyers were still willing to take a decisive step when high quality homes with quality appeal became available.
“Nice houses still sell well,” he said.
